Ptosis is a medical condition that causes abnormally droopy upper eyelids due to a weakness in the lifting mechanism of the eyelid. This leads to affected individuals being unable to open their eyelids entirely. Thus, individuals with this condition will typically look fatigued.
In some severe cases, people may face difficulties fully opening their eyes. This obstruction to their vision can result in them having to constantly tilt their head back to regain vision clarity. Over time, this act may eventually lead to long-term soreness in the neck or spine if a ptosis repair is not performed.
